Awake had I waited...
For Your sake, Lord, on account of Thee,
A lantern I had lit
At gloomy depths of my psyche.
Many an age arrived and left;
Many lifetimes ended.
Your kindness did not happen;
You came not, Lord, to my dwelling.
Many white jessamines fell;
Many shephalii wilted.
Crying, so much moonlight went
With lament in both Fall and Spring.
