Keeping it close by did not thrive
Under endless bondage of matter.

In diverse ways both day and night,
Knowledge had I desired
On a thought-stream's dearth entire,
The dyes applied, many hundreds.

That same golden-caged 'I'-sense,
When it You did request,
You abducted and then kissing head
Said: "Color you did vanquish."

Watching the goings-on, You beckon.

Like the musk deer^[1] I rush about,
Fear of own darkness being roused.
I don't see a ray of light has awakened, stretching out;
On mind's depths it rises in a hundred fashions.

I've wanted to receive the moon in a dark recess,
A waterfall amid the desert.

What I've fantasized, I have gotten in excess;
Assemblage of a hundred moons I have seen in darkness.
A sweet fount in crater's mouth I have witnessed,
That which is a kindness unearned.

Myself, I've gone missing upon obtaining happiness;
I have been inundated by a thought-current.
From thinking and reflection, that I've experienced,
What through scripture can't be learned.

The light You did ignite,
Of it there's no likeness, no likeness.^[1]
To make compass known on the dark night,
This is a speck of Your kindness.

If ever I'm forgetting You,
Lord, listlessly to move and move,
Then this Your lamp, love's fragment,
"The goal," it tells, "don't forget."

If the unit life go on forgetting,
Through speck of Your unsought mercy,
Loud and fiercely out it cries:
"Don't deceive yourself."

Psychic speech, only You fathom it;
Purposely, why disguise as stupid?
In- and outside You dwell, just useless it is
If sense of affection did not exist.

By hearing, thinking, and unbroken reverie,
You are my Polaris in meditation and in knowing.
Reposing in bed or dreaming, asleep or awaking,
This fact, who let it be buried?
